David K. "Dave" Myers (born August 8, 1959 in York, Pennsylvania, U.S.) is an American professional baseball coach and a former minor league shortstop and manager. From through , Myers was the third-base coach of the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball.〔(retrosheet.org )〕 As an active player, Myers stood tall, weighed , and threw and batted right-handed. He graduated from York's William Penn High School, where he was a two-sport standout in baseball and basketball. Myers chose Temple University to further his career, where he played for Temple coach Skip Wilson. Teammates included Doug Kepple and former professionals H.J. Lopes, Billy Mendek and Pete Filson. He was selected by the New York Yankees in the 27th round of the 1980 Major League Baseball Draft, but did not sign. Myers was named the Temple Owls' Most Valuable Player his redshirt junior year in 1981. After that junior year he was selected by the Mariners in the 13th round (312th overall) in the 1981 MLB Draft〔Howe News Bureau, 1982 Seattle Mariners Organization Book〕 and played eight seasons of minor league baseball in the Seattle system, including four years at the Double-A level. Myers then managed Mariners' farm clubs for 12 seasons, 1989–2000, the last six as skipper of the Triple-A Tacoma Rainiers of the Pacific Coast League, before joining the Major League staff of Lou Piniella for the 2001 season. In his first campaign as the M's third-base coach, Seattle won an American League-record 116 games. He became a coach in the Cleveland Indians' organization after leaving the Mariners and spent – as a coach for the Durham Bulls, Triple-A International League affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.
